ACW Filters

  • Filtration made easy
  • Filtration options to suit many applications
  • Change filters without tools
  • Simple colour coded system

The QCC Series filters from Waterworks are a cost effective and user friendly, range of water filters designed for use on your municipal water supply. There are 4 individual filter options in the range and each is available as replacement cartridges, single, double or triple ets, including brackets, push & twist head and quick connect fittings to suit each individual application. They feature the highest quality filtration media and industry-leading technology that makes changing our filters as simple as changing a light bulb.

Waterworks filtration cartridges

THE FILTERS:

QCC-10-SED (Blue label)

This cartridge contains a polypropylene blend that will reduce water-borne sediment to a size of 10 microns. This filter is usually used in areas of high sediment and can be used to protect the next cartridge(s) from the larger sediments that tend to log lower micron cartridges. Using this cartridge in this way may extend the useful life of filter cartridges ?downstream.?

QCC-1-SED (Green label)

This cartridge contains a polypropylene blend that will reduce water-borne sediment to a size of 1 micron. This filter is usually used in areas of normal sediment and can be used to protect the next cartridge(s) from sediments that tend to clog chemical ilter cartridges. Using this cartridge in this way may extend the useful life of filter cartridges ?downstream.?

QCC-5-BLK (Yellow label)

This cartridge contains an activated carbon block that will reduce odours, tastes, chemicals such as chlorine and water-borne sediment to a size of 5 microns. This is a general-purpose filter, which is usually used as the final, (or only) stage of filtration. This cartridge is often receded by a sediment cartridge, which can help to extend its useful life.

QCC-10-P (Red label)

This cartridge contains a blend of 80% GAC, (Granular Activated Carbon) and 20% Phosphate crystals. This filter is used just prior to a heater or boiling appliance and it designed to protect the element and waterways of that appliance from he accumulation of calcium and other minerals, which can shorten the life of these appliances. Installing a sediment filter prior to this cartridge may also extend its useful life.

CONFIGURATION OPTIONS:

The Waterworks QCC Series filtrations systems are available as single, double or triple stage filters, each with matching bracket and head assemblies that provide filtration in a compact, user-friendly package.

All four cartridges can be assembled into the ideal combination for your application. The standard systems available are;

QCC-SET-5

This single cartridge, general-purpose system contains an activated carbon block that will reduce odours, tastes, chemicals such as chlorine and water-borne sediment to a size of 5 microns.

QCC-SET-1-5

This double cartridge system has the same chemical reduction properties as the single cartridge, multi-purpose system, but with the added protection of a 1 micron prefilter.  This polypropylene cartridge reduces waterborne particles and protects the chemical filter from clogging hich may occur in high sediment areas.

QCC-SET-1-5-P

This triple cartridge system has the same sediment and chemical reduction as the twin system, with the Phosphate post filter added. This filter is used just prior to a heater or boiling appliance and it designed to protect the heating element and waterways of that ppliance from the accumulation of calcium and other minerals.

OTHER OPTIONS:

In high sediment areas, use the 10 micron sediment pre-filter to protect downstream cartridges from waterborne particles which can reduce their effectiveness and useful lifespan. This filter cartridge can be used in conjunction with any of the other ystems, but should always be used first in line.

INSTALLATION OPTIONS:

The filtration system should always be located in a protected area where it is unlikely to be affected by extreme temperatures, sunlight or passing pedestrian traffic. They are usually installed either in a kitchen cupboard or attached to a water cooler, (internally if possible) and must always be installed ?downstream? from a pressure limiting device and an isolating valve. Care should always be taken to ensure that the flow direction arrow matches the installation and that the cartridges are in the correct order, (Sediment, then Chemical, then Phosphate). The unique design of the bracket and head allow the flow direction to be changed between left to right (standard) and right to left if required.

Plumbing codes may vary greatly between municipalities and it remains the users responsibility to ensure the installation complies with the relevant standards for your area. Waterworks Australia recommends seeking the advice of a licensed plumber.

CAPACITY:

The useful life of Waterworks QCC filter cartridges will greatly depend upon the amount and quality of the water which passes through them.

In high use applications, or areas with high sediment or chemical loading of the water supply, you may be able to increase the life span of your filters by installing sediment pre-filter cartridges as part of the system, but as a general guide, we would recommend that the cartridges should be replaced every six (6) months.
